The Policy Advisor, Financing for Development will provide analysis of trends and make recommendations for action in regard to all forms of development financing in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and, as such, World Vision’s Global Impact Framework. This analysis will support Advocacy & External Engagement (A&EE) advocacy objectives in relation to ITAW, the 2030 Agenda, as well as objectives of Support Offices (SOs) in relation to Official Development Assistance (ODA) and Regional Offices (ROs)/National Offices (NOs) regarding domestic resource mobilization (i.e. taxation).


  • Analysis of and reports developed on ODA, taxation, private sector investment and other forms of financing for development (FfD) that relates to the achievement of child related SDGs and WV child well-being objectives.

  • Represent World Vision, and/or support representation of World Vision leaders at priority external forums, events, networks and other processes to promote agreed policy positions.

  • Collaborate with SO, RO and NO colleagues on research and policy development on FfD.

  • Share analysis with select partners and coalitions.


  • Bachelor Degree in field related to international development, political science, economics, communications, etc.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in policy, research, government relations/external engagement, or other specific field relevant to World Vision’s work.

  • Strong experience and skills in research and analysis.

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.

  • Strong knowledge of Financing for Development issues and trends.

  • Fluency in English. Other languages an asset.

Work Environment/Travel:

  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel internationally 5-10% of the time.
