Director of Digital Acquisition Marketing

The role is responsible for ongoing development, global scaling and optimisation of World Vision International's globally aligned digital marketing and sales acquisition funnel capabilities across all fundraising markets.

Special focus areas are scaling digital revenue conversion optimisation to grow revenue, and scaling a lead generation/cultivation/conversion capability to deliver incremental acquisition growth. Strong strategic leadership, influence and interpersonal engagement are critical to success as well as assumed digital, tech and data excellence at a global level.

This role is accountable for:

Increasing global digital acquisition and revenue conversion by at least 40% in the next 2 years.

  • Lead ongoing development of Partnership-wide digital marketing funnel capabilities through collaboration, identification, development, testing and proving.

  • Identify, develop, frame,champion, and scale new globally B2C digital funnel and ecommerce capabilities inc. effective performance metrics, that enable World Vision to own the cost structure and audience reach.

  • Develop strategic frameworks that effectively communicate and enable adoption and scaling of proven capability best practices.

  • Lead Partnership-wide digital marketing funnel optimisation and scaling of best practices to increase long term revenue conversion growth by 20% over the next 2 yrs.

  • Paid and earned top of funnel reach, awareness, social interaction, digital lead capture and direct response conversion.

  • Below-the-line marketing a customer engagement, especially using customer data, segmentation, and marketing automation.

  • eCommerce optimisation through comparative performance measurement.

  • Lead development of a Partnership-wide benchmark B2C multi-channel lead generation, capture, cultivation and conversion capability to increase acquisitions by 20% over the next 2yrs.

  • Lead a cultural change towards investing into a longer tail of prospects to cultivate.

  • Partner with offline channel leaders to develop multi-channel multi-touch lead experience strategy.

  • Partner with fundraising offices to setup, test, learn, optimise and scale proven lead capability practices.

  • Lead and manage Partnership-wide cross-functional virtual stakeholder teams to foster and enable collaborative success across regions and geographies.

  • Lead, influence and support digital marketing staff across multiple markets and cultures.

  • Lead Partnership-wide working groups on digital acquisition marketing capabilities and performance improvement.

  • Lead the selection and management of vendors to enable outputs and outcomes.


  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Marketing Strategy or closely related field.

  • 10-15 years in marketing, fundraising or related role, including 5-7 years at a senior management level with demonstrable success in achieving growth in digital channel acquisition/fundraising and developing mutually value-added partnerships.

  • Experience creating and leading digital strategies, especially in global contexts with multiple payment providers, customer types, and product types.

  • Strategic marketing thinker, able to guide, edit and develop clear, brief and compelling written and visual communications. Able to synthesize complex concepts for a wide variety of audiences.

  • Exceptional relationship and influencing skills, able to win the confidence of a broad range of different stakeholders including leaders from a variety of cultural and professional backgrounds, and developing high-performing virtual global teams.

  • Significant experience leading change in a complex environment.

  • Native level or highly proficient professional level English.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading a marketing function within one of the largest World Vision Support offices and / or Minimum 7 years of experience leading a marketing function within a global organization.

  • Strong success record developing strategic and tactical communications plans and the resources required to implement them.

  • Strong understanding of international development and empathy for people dealing with poverty or oppression.

Work Environment/Travel:

  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.

  • As appropriate to a standard office environment. Must be able to travel at least 30% of the time.
