PURPOSE OF POSITION:

We are looking for an experienced and creative App UX/UI Designer to join our team in World Vision during this exciting time of organisation-wide digital transformation and revitalisation of World Vision’s child sponsorship.

The purpose of the App UX/UI Designer role is to deliver the best user experience for the new global Mobile App to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty once launched to World Vision child sponsors in several markets within the next year. This role is responsible for designing user interface, user-friendly navigation and user experiences that fulfil on user expectations and are aligned with the global brand, global and local design guides and existing digital experiences.

The App UX/UI Designer will work closely with the App Product Manager, with global and local digital marketing teams and with technical implementation teams to build mobile-first user experiences and interfaces that successfully engage and retain supporters. They plan and implement new designs, optimize existing user interface designs, develop and design wireframes to support business and technical requirements, support implementation, conduct user-testing to ensure user-centred solutions, and analyse effectiveness of designs and the engagement and behaviour of users.

The successful candidate will possess comprehensive understanding of the design thinking methodology and user-centred design, strong knowledge of wire framing or prototyping tools and workflow models, strong web-based digital design capability, mobile design and development skills, excellent organisational, time management and prioritisation skills, strong verbal and written communications and capacity to work in groups and build relationships in a virtual, multi-cultural environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

New Designs:

  • Leads user experience and user interface design for new Mobile App features and functionalities according to roadmap and workplan.

  • Creates plans and prototypes for new product ideas.

  • Facilitates feedback and approvals for new designs by key stakeholders.

Existing UK/UI Optimisation:

  • Leads optimisation of existing App user experience and user interface in collaboration with key stakeholders.

  • Accurately manage updates within appropriate timeframes and roadmaps, consulting relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Creates wireframes and related documentation of new and enhanced designs to communicate business requirements for technical development.

User-Testing:

  • Conducts ongoing user testing to obtain and analyse qualitative data for optimisation and new ideas before implementing.

Analysis:

  • Analyses reports on design effectiveness from the user testing and plans for UX/UI enhancements accordingly.

  • Supports analysis, reviews and reports on performance and effectiveness of designs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.

  • Comprehensive understanding of UX/UI, design thinking methodology and human-centred design.

  • Strong web-based digital design capability, mobile design, and development skills, incl. iOS and Android design and navigation systems.

  • Creativity to develop top line creative concepts and strategy in line with business objectives.

  • Knowledge of wire-framing or prototyping tools and workflow models.

  • Fluent in all design tools, incl. XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, Dreamweaver etc.

  • Some experience with HTML5 & CSS3.

  • Agile experience and understanding of scrum.

  • Strong capacity to build relationships and collaborate in a virtual and global working environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with ability to discuss and explain design options.

  • Proven capacity to deliver agreed outcomes within agreed timelines and budget.

  • Excellent organisational, time management and prioritisation skills.

  • Action-oriented, detailed problem solver.

  • 4+ years of experience as an UI/UX Designer or similar role in a digital technical environment.

  • UX/UI design portfolio.

  • Excellent (Fluent) written and verbal communication in English.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Knowledge of Usability Factors in Human Computer Interaction.

  • Ecommerce design.

  • Familiar with front-end development languages (HTML, CSS, Javascript etc.).

Work Environment/Travel:

  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time.

  • This position is based remotely.
