Senior Advisor, Faith & Development, Quality & Innovation.

*Position location to be determined by home country of successful candidate within a jurisdiction (country or U.S. State) where WVI is registered to operate.


Provide strategic leadership that influences the quality and impact of F&D approaches and faith integration. This will entail the oversee the development of F&D integration into ministry and sector guidance (including global minimum standards, project models, capacity building strategies and curricula, and M&E tools) for World Vision distinctiveness to deepen impact for holistic child well-being. In collaboration with other global staff, champion F&D to identify, document, and promote scalable innovative solutions to address children’s vulnerability. This

will entail the leadership and quality control of F&D key evidence based intervention packages, project models and impact measures in alignment with the Partnership Strategy.


Set Strategic Priorities in F&D Programme Quality, Guidance and Integration:

  • In the context of the WV Partnership strategy responsible for helping the organization to answer “what F&D approaches drive impact”, “what learning can we apply” and "what new innovations should we adopt".

  • Champion cross-sector collaboration around scalable innovative solutions.

  • Develop practical and actionable F&D integration guidance on global minimum standards, project models, capacity building strategies and curricula, and M&E tools.

  • Support integration of F&D in national office strategy designs, through providing guidance on addressing faith-related issues in different stages of strategy design (e.g.,

  • strategy objectives, strategy M&E framework, SWOR, etc.)

  • Provide guidance to ensure implementation fidelity of F&D Project Models.

  • Oversee the quality of F&D programming in alignment with global F&D priorities and project models.

  • Ensure F&D learning and innovations are documented, communicated and disseminated in collaboration with KM.

  • With GFO, provide feedback on quality of F&D programming in alignment withglobal F&D priorities and project models.

Impact and Learning:

  • Monitor Progress on Child Well-Being objectives 1 & 2 by producing reports through Horizon, analyzing data and sharing the reports and learning.

  • Support and monitor continued application of F&D output measures.

  • Liaise with Horizon team to continue improving and capturing F&D measures.

  • Work with Evidence and learning to strengthen evidence of impact of F&D approaches for holistic CWB.

  • In collaboration with Sponsorship, track Sponsorship Minimum Programming Standards (SMPS) and RC Monitoring Standard (RCMS) as it relates to F&D project models and holistic child development.

Build Capacities:

  • Collaborate with F&D leaders and sectors and F&D SME’s to build organizational agility and culture that supports quality and innovation in F&D programming.

  • Provide thought leadership in order to find evidence based solutions to F&D programming challenges.

  • Collaborate with other sector innovation leads, design and manage processes to identify vet and pilot innovative approaches.

  • Defines F&D research portfolio and documentation/publication agenda and works with Evidence & Learning on implementation.

  • Collaborate with F&D Internal Facing Team to support F&D-related competencies and capacities across sectors, ministries, and teams.

Ensure Accountability:

  • With GFO, assess quality and coverage of F&D programming within development, disaster & conflict contexts, to support increased quality in sponsorship, grant, and privately funded projects.

Promote WV Way:

  • Champion cross-sector collaboration for integration of sector with other sectors and themes, working closely with other teams and colleagues to integrate our ministry distinctive including faith and

  • development and advocacy and developglobal ministry standards.

  • Keep abreast of latest developments and innovations in the broader F&D sector that is relevant to WV and share them internally through relevant CoP’s (F&D and sectors).

  • Benchmark with peers and other relevant organizations to learn best practice and ensure we are cutting edge.

External Engagement:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant academic field.

  • In-depth knowledge of sector programming including evidence based sector programming.

  • In-depth knowledge of F&D metrics and indicators.

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in sector programming in field location.

  • Experience in overseeing or supporting multi country programmes.

  • Experience in grant funded programmes by bilateral and multilateral donors.

  • Experience in working with faith, faith actors and faith related issues in development.

  • Strong organizational, time and project management skills and experience.

  • Excellent communication skills in writing and producing clear, concise and appealing documents. including online facilitation, training and influencing.

  • Demonstrates Christ-centred life and work with deep personal commitment to Christ.


  • Effective in written and verbal communication in English.

  • 5-7 years’ experience within the development/humanitarian industry.

  • Demonstrated experience working across a complex and large organization to achieve work objectives.

  • Advanced knowledge of WV core documents, policies, procedures, and protocols and their appropriate application to the mission of World Vision.

  • Proven work experience with WV’s design, monitoring and evaluation methods and approaches.

Work Environment:

  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.
