Senior Marketing and Financial Analyst

Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This critical, dynamic role delivers excellent reporting and analysis of our marketing and financial results so that senior leaders can make informed, thoughtful decisions to help us better deliver high quality, sustainable funding and to align global resources across our work in nearly 100 countries. This role will actively engage with fundraising Support Office finance and marketing leadership (Chief Financial Officer/Finance Director and Marketing Director) to understand our global results and forecasts and communicate them to World Vision leadership through effective analysis, which tells the “story” of the organization’s marketing and financial landscape. As a result, this role meaningfully contributes to helping the world’s most vulnerable children, through the work of World Vision.

You might be an ideal candidate if you:

  • Are passionate about using your analytical and data management skills to equip leaders with insightful reporting, dashboards, and analyses.

  • Love to take a process, data set, or dashboard and make it better – higher quality, more insightful, and more tightly aligned with customer needs.

  • Have a strong background in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and data warehousing.

We are moving quickly to realize our global strategy, Our Promise 2030, to build brighter futures for vulnerable children. Check it out for yourself at www.wvi.org/ourpromise2030/

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Equip senior leaders to make sound decisions in line with our strategy by delivering high-value analysis and insights on the global fundraising performance of fundraising offices in 20+ countries. This includes developing and producing monthly financial reporting, quarterly fundraising dashboards for 20+ fundraising offices, reports for the WVI Board, and other recurring analyses. This role will manage the development of each of these deliverables and partner with fundraising Support Office finance and marketing leadership to discern trends and identify the key insights that need to be relayed to WVI and Support Office senior leadership. Each product is an opportunity to highlight progress toward our global strategy and to build alignment across the partnership.

  • Forecasting helps us understand if we are aligned and on track to accomplish our strategic goals. Facilitate our newly improved forecasting process for 20+ fundraising offices by partnering with these offices to ensure high quality, timely forecasts. Actively dialogue and consult with Support Office finance and marketing leadership to ensure quality data is provided, challenge data and assumptions, understand trends and drivers and interpret the underlying story. Create analysis that communicates results to key stakeholders in a way that highlights gaps and opportunities as we progress on our strategy, and influences senior leadership to make informed, strategic decisions.

  • Our ability to make sound strategic decisions depends on high quality, trustworthy data. Ensure and build confidence in the quality of our data by monitoring and improving the tools and processes for collecting fundraising and marketing data. Co-develop new methods and processes for data collection as we expand and mature our marketing data set to include deeper insights in areas such as channel performance, product line performance, and return on investment across our global portfolio of products. Also, leverage and connect data from multiple sources to gather insights and enhance analysis.

  • Leadership groups have been empowered to make critical decisions to help us better realize our strategy. This includes groups such as the WVI Board, Partnership Resource Allocation Committee, and the Resource Development Leadership Council. Equip these leaders to make decisions by providing them with timely recurring and ad-hoc reporting and analysis. Build confidence and assurance in your work by paying attention to detail, connecting the dots between various areas of our strategy, and drawing out insights in a way that is clear and impactful.

  • This dynamic role will have the opportunity to contribute to ad-hoc global finance and global marketing projects, which often requires strategic analysis of multiple data sources, challenging assumptions and interpreting underlying trends, and dialoging with Support Office and Global Center leadership to effectively communicate key insights and the “story” behind the numbers. Come up to speed quickly, prioritize, deliver high quality work and then move on to the next project.
