Director, Investment and Performance Metrics

Job Description

*Position location to be determined by home country of successful candidate where WVI is registered to operate.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This position will lead critical strategic responsibilities for the Global Resource Development group’s advancement of the Ministry Funding Priorities within the Partnership Strategy. This includes, leading the Global Investment Fund to ensure it is well aligned with the Ministry Funding Priorities and delivers the expected outcomes in performance. The Global Investment Fund consists of co-investment (funded jointly by WVI and National Offices, both Support and Field) to pilot innovations and capability development in key strategic areas to advance the ministry funding imperative of the new Partnership Strategy. This post will ensure the Investment Fund delivers expected new revenue and capabilities and insights, including scaling of successful initiatives in FY 18.

This position will also lead the development, integration and implementation of new ministry funding performance metrics and processes, working with key Support Offices and Global Centre leaders to ensure we are effectively planning and measuring performance that delivers high quality ministry funding for the Partnership Strategy. This leader will work with Support Office and Global Centre leaders to mobilize around the Partnership strategy and support alignment of strategies and plans with the new funding priorities to sustainably fund the Partnership strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the global Investment Fund ensuring it delivers the expected outcomes to meaningfully advance the Ministry Funding Priorities. This includes leading the analysis (working with the leaders of the initiatives and Finance) to project results from the Investment Fund initiatives to determine viability and potential for scaling; reporting and communicating Investment Fund progress, results and recommendations; and overseeing deployment of the funds, with Finance, to ensure tight financial controls.

  • This initiative will involve leading collaboration and building capability in scaling. It will also involve regular, appropriate oversight of and communication with senior leaders, as well as collaborating with teams and work groups who are leading the implementation of the projects and action plans to ensure the fund’s overall performance.

  • Where appropriate, this person will recommend improvements or revisions to current initiatives and systems.

  • Lead the development, integration and implementation of new ministry funding performance metrics (KPIs) and processes, working with key Support Offices and GC leaders (including Finance), to measure success against the Ministry Funding Priorities. This includes developing new metrics and processes to measure quality not just quantity of revenue; and ensuring these metrics are integrated across the Partnership to enable and measure our progress in delivering high quality, sustainable funding for the Partnership strategy (as reported in the SO Dashboard and other performance management mechanisms).

  • Work with SO and GC leaders to mobilize around the Partnership strategy and support alignment of strategies and plans with the new funding priorities to sustainably fund the Partnership strategy.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance.

  • Extensive experience in leading marketing-driven businesses, through advanced metrics and analysis.

  • Extensive experience and deep knowledge of subscription-based models, both financial aspects and marketing aspects of the model.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Extensive experience in strategy and translating strategy into metrics, analysis and clear recommendations for taking business actions.

  • A senior and experienced marketer with 10 to 12 years of experience in Marketing, managing teams, projects and performing analysis functions in a corporation, financial institution or non-profit organization.

  • Excellent Change Management skills.

  • Extensive experience in communicating with and influencing senior leaders, via verbal and written, both numbers-oriented leaders and those that are not numbers oriented demonstrating ability to clearly and simply tell the story of the

  • results and their strategic importance.

Preferred:

  • MBA preferred

  • Superior organization, prioritization, and self-motivation skills.

  • Strong computer skills and knowledge in MS Office Suite.

  • Ability to translate or communicate complex marketing and finance principles into common language.

  • Experience in developing and implementing process improvement initiatives.

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.
