Senior Advisor – Strategy, Collaboration & Innovation

Job Description

*Position location to be determined by home country of successful candidate within a jurisdiction (Country or US State) where WVI is registered to operate.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Senior Advisor of Strategy, Collaboration & Innovation would perform as the principal or engagement manager within the internal consulting team function of World Vision International. This internal consulting function seeks to drive substantive change and address strategic priorities of the Partnership by leading, supporting, and/or facilitating its most complex and critical strategic projects. The Senior Advisor needs to take advantage of ideation, strategic innovation, external engagement, collaboration, and partnering as means to deliver on the key strategic projects while concurrently furthering the Partnership’s capacities in these areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and define strategic projects through ideation and/or internal demand generation.

  • Provide senior leadership and/or support of strategic projects in collaboration with key stakeholders within WV.

  • Build effective internal and external relationships at the most senior levels of organisations.

  • Manage client portfolios and consulting projects for department consideration as needed.

KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Required:

  • Master’s degree in economics, business administration, public administration/management international development or related field.

  • 10+ years of professional training experience and practice related to management consulting, cross-sector partnering, social entrepreneurship, corporate business development/strategic planning and/or corporate innovation management/R&D.

  • Minimum of 2 years in management consulting.

Preferred:

  • Extensive international experiences and comfort in working across cultures and within complex organizational structures.

  • Demonstrated breadth of business and organization development experience and facilitation of group processes.

  • Strength in building effective work relationships with both local and dispersed colleagues, and to manage and lead horizontally across the organisation and between organisations.

  • Sees the “big picture” in complex situations by linking information or applying theoretical frameworks, by taking a systems view, or by considering an abstract, broader, or longer-term perspective.

  • Written Communication Skills: Expresses ideas, thoughts, and concepts clearly and effectively. Ability to present complex ideas and concepts clearly in front of senior audiences.

  • Experience working in a matrix reporting environment highly desirable.

Work Environment:

  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time.
