Marketing and Communications Officer
Position: Marketing and Communications Officer (1)
Location: National Office – Lusaka
Purpose of the position:
To assist in the development and implementation of marketing initiatives designed to increase World Vision Zambia’s capacities to engage corporate donors and generate resources for its ministry priorities and increase the influence of the organisation and its global brand, contributing to child wellbeing. Communicate World Vision's Christian ethos and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others.
Produce marketing materials like brochures, video documentaries, interactive CD/DVD presentations
Develop project proposal/concept papers for public/private partnerships targeted at potential partners
Coordinate and plan all marketing events such as exhibitions, meetings, launches and social events
Produce and provide support offices with high quality information resources including stories, photos, videos and web based materials for marketing and fundraising
Assist in building strategic and productive relations with the media to ensure coverage of events.
Conduct quality check on all printing works and promotional materials such as bill boards, banners, t-shirts to ensure adherence to branding guidelines
Ensure implementation of marketing initiatives designed to engage corporate donors and generate resources for ministry priorities.
Excellent writing, photographic and video skills.
An energetic, analytical and self-starting approach to projects
Experience in production of diverse and creative marketing and communications materials including brochures, photos, videos and other visibility materials
Excellent presentation and negotiation skills, Creativity and innovativeness is critical
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint and other software packages
Able to travel extensively and work in the field
Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
Attend and lead in daily devotions and weekly Chapel services.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications/Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
Diploma in Journalism/Public Relations/Marketing, Degree in Mass Media and Public Relations or Marketing added advantage,
Must have 3 years of professional experience in Journalism/Marketing/Public Relations
Good experience in video productions, photographic, development of documentaries, media presentations, branding of posters, brochures and banners
Should have work experience in the media or Public Relations is preferred.
A strategic thinker able to identify public private partnership opportunities
Must have experience in fundraising from corporations or other Zambian entities
Able to initiate and plan promotional activities such as exhibitions to create awareness on World Vision activities and brand identity
Excellent Public Relations skills necessary in engaging with corporate donors, media and other stakeholders.
Experience in developing project proposals that will attract public/private partnerships for WVZ programming
Working Environment / Conditions:
Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field
Travel: 30% Domestic/international travel is required.
