SPONSORSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
PURPOSE OF POSITION
To provide field leadership in facilitating the planning, designing, and implementation of Sponsorship, Education, and activities in the ADP with emphasis on community mobilization and participation in liaison with key stakeholders using the Integrated Programming Model.
DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES PROGRAMMING
Facilitate the identification, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of sustainable development, projects in Education and activities by communities.
Preparation of sector Budgets, expenditure analysis and making recommendations for efficient resource management.
Facilitate participatory annual detailed plans preparation with communities and key stakeholders.
Facilitate implementation of approved annual plans by coordinating the efforts of all partners
Enhance the sustainability of program activities through ensuring community and stakeholder involvement and participation in the project cycle.
Facilitate the organization and coordination of meetings and workshops with community and other stakeholders.
Facilitate the Identification and response to community training needs in relation to Education, activities in the ADP.
Participating in developing the capacity of local community leadership structures for sustainable development.
Produce regular and timely consolidated progress reports regarding the sector projects.
To ensure the proper management and accountability for GIK received from National Office.
SPONSORSHIP AND CHILD RIGHTS PROGRAMMING
Ensure functional systems for implementation of CRS activities in the ADP as per the partnership, regional and national office standards
Design and coordinate annual mailings to ensure customer retention.
Coordinate and ensure the process of child census.
Undertake quarterly and annual reconciliation and take action on key findings.
Conduct quality checks on annual mailing and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Formulate child monitoring strategies, systems and tools and communicate on the well-being of Registered Children.
Develop programme appropriate child, registration, selection, retention and growth strategies.
Identify specific areas for child rights and child protection programming and design appropriate programming models
Design and conduct awareness campaigns on child rights and child protection issues
Produce regular reports on development activities which involve child participation in the ADP
Networking with other relevant stakeholders on issues pertaining to child rights and child protection
Facilitate Training communities and staff members on child rights and child protection issues
Establish systems for regular follow up on the education and other needs of children in the community and visit them accordingly on a regular basis;
Educate and community development facilitators and child caregivers in regular tracking of children, discussing issues with guardians and taking corrective actions.
Educate and raise awareness of communities on integration between sponsorship and general community development.
Management and supervision of Community Development Facilitators and Step user.
Ensure the participation of project development facilitators in designing, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of community projects
Identifying capacity development needs of Community Development Facilitators and implement appropriate responses.
Conduct appraisals of Community Development Facilitators and the STEP User
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Degree in Social Sciences/Rural Development/Agriculture/Health Sciences
A relevant postgraduate training is an added advantage.
At least three years experience in community/rural development or related work.
Computer literacy in Lotus Notes, Excel, Word, Power Point packages.
Community participatory Methodologies such PRA.
Facilitation, coordination, financial management and leadership skills
Ability or willingness to use motorbike is an added advantage
Class 4 Drivers License an advantage
