Job Description

Nutrition Project Coordinator

Purpose of the Position:

To work closely with MoH, UNICEF ( other donors) and other WV Health programs in

the country, providing technical support, mentoring and monitoring of Nutrition project

personnel as well as effective implementation of the UNICEF Nutrition project


To work closely with MoH, Donors and other WVZ programmes, providing technical

support for effective implementation of the nutrition activities and mentoring and

monitoring nutrition project staff.

  1. Project Coordination and Evaluation

  • Plan and organize Nutrition project set up in prioritized areas and work with MoH officials to ensure all aspects of project are understood, implemented and documented appropriately according to protocols.

  • Prepare accurate and timely technical reports and monthly reports.

  • Facilitate MoH staffs at provincial/district/community levels (as appropriate) to fully participate in decision-making regarding project activities.

  1. Advisory Services

  • Advise the sector head on nutrition related issues

  • Establish and maintain a nutrition technical advice, information, and research system.

  • Integrate nutrition activities with other health interventions in the country both internal & external to World Vision

  1. Represent World Vision at MoH, (and related government fora), UN and other partner agencies during health and nutrition related coordination interventions

  2. Network and cultivate linkages with provincial and district partners to co-ordinate functions, share lessons learned and develop common nutrition projects.

5. Financial Management

  • Ensure budget conforms to donor requirements.

6. Human Resource Management

  • Identify, recruit and manage UNICEF project staff.

  • Oversee training and development of staff and communities towards nationalization of health program

7. Spiritual Leadership

  • Exhibit spiritual maturity, integrity and a dynamic personal sense of life calling.

Knowledge and skills

  • University degree in Nutrition, Public Health or Nursing with experience in public health/nutrition programming

  • Experience in project planning, management and service training

  • Minimum two years work experience

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Excellent English communication and presentation skills (oral & written)

Working knowledge of the local language
