DEVELOPMENT FACILITATOR – NYANYADZI ADP

Job Description

JOB TITLE : DEVELOPMENT FACILITATOR – NYANYADZI ADP

REPORTS TO: CLUSTER ADP MANAGER

Purpose of the Position:

To provide Field Leadership and support in planning, designing, and implementation of the new ADP Chimanimani Lower with emphasis on community organization, participation, education in liaison with key stakeholders in line with WVI policies and philosophy.

Major Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate program planning and implementation within the ADP

  • To explain the mission, goals objectives and policies of World Vision International to the community and stakeholders.

  • Ensure high quality ministry delivery through facilitating good ADP planning, management and implementation of all the start-up processes for the new ADP.

  • Facilitate and provide good management of the new ADP’s finances budget analysis, reporting and accountability of the new ADP’s assets.

  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings and workshops in preparation of the DPA processes.

  • Produce the LEAP Provisional design document and budget.

  • Facilitate the Identification and response to community training needs

  • Conduct community education meetings in all the four wards of the ADP in preparation of RC recruitment.

  • Ensure that all sponsorship equipment is procured and secured.

  • Produce monthly, semi-annual and annual reports for the ADP.

  • Follow up on development of emergencies, report developments to the ADP Manager and participate in emergency relief when it occurs in the ADP

  • Enhance the capacity of Volunteers within the ADP in preparation for RC recruitment.

  • Develop the capacity of local community leadership structures for sustainable development.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the ADP manager including those of Chimanimani ADP.

Facilitate and Oversee the Implementation stat up processes of the new ADP

  • Ensure functional systems for implementation of DPA as per the partnership, regional and national office standards

  • Building the capacities of community leadership and volunteers in transformational development and CRS work

  • Ensure adherence to all the KPIs for the start-up processes.

  • Ensure compliance to set standards and new initiatives from the partnership office.

Assist in developing proposals for PNS for the two ADPs and GIK for the new ADP.

  • Ensure the proper management and accountability for GIK received from National Office.

  • Develop proposals to complement sponsorship resources

Child Rights Programming & Child Protection

  • Facilitate education and capacity trainings in Child Rights programming.

  • Develop age appropriate programs for child participation in the ADP.

  • Facilitate identification and addressing of child rights issues affecting orphans and vulnerable children in the ADP

  • Networks with stakeholder organizations working on child sponsorship and child protection

Documentation

  • Compile reports as per the reporting calendar, and on demand

  • Document and shares stories of transformation

  • Maintain an up to date database for projects and activities.

Assignment and review of work:

Specific monthly activities are based on agreed monthly work plan. Planning of daily/weekly activities is managed by the incumbent, with input from the manager. Urgent issues will be assigned as and when they arise.

Work accomplishments are reviewed monthly by line manager through the monthly management report.

Performance is reviewed quarterly as part of the performance review process and at the end of each food project.

Budget Responsibility:

May have budget responsibility for specified projects in consultation with management.

Knowledge and Skills:

  1. In-depth knowledge of project design, project management, project implementation and proposal writing.

  2. Degree in Social Sciences preferably Development Studies and or Agriculture / Livelihood related Degree.

  3. At least 5 years’ experience in Development work, with an ability to supervise and monitor Agriculture related projects.

  4. In-depth knowledge of WV’s field operations in both relief and development context.

  5. Ability to write proposals and ensure proper documentation of program activities.

  6. Ability to lead community based participatory long and short-term planning.

  7. Ability to ensure integration of relief, development and advocacy.

  8. Ability to align implementation of activities in line with vision/mission/strategy.

  9. Ability to maintain close relationships with other NGO’s, community structures and government agencies.

  10. Ability to respect and relate appropriately to people of other faiths.
